blog #1 - macrame project updates

Hello Hi :)

Happy first blog post! I’ll be honest, after taking a 7 year break from being a beauty blogger for 8 years of my life, it feels super weird to be typing a casual blog post in which I’m talking to no one and yet everyone at the same time LOL! While weird feeling, it’s also nostalgic to sit at a messy desk with a hot caffeine drink and feel open minded to type out my thoughts. I wanted to start this blog page on my website as a form of sharing my artist lifestyle behind the scenes, and to get away from social media platforms (except for tiktok, I can’t disconnect from knowing the world beyond my home lol). I think I’ve been on social media for a decade and a half now, and it’s become a place where I can’t thrive as an artist in the way that fits my lifestyle. For now, I’m not sure how anyone can subscribe to this blog, I’ll have to figure that out eventually. I use Squarespace for this website and there’s still so much for me to learn in using the interface and all it has to offer. I would really like to have a newsletter too, to share these blog posts and any new products I add to the website. Okay, that’s enough intro lol now on to my art project updates :)

I’m slowly easing my way back into an artist lifestyle after taking a year and a half off for personal life chaos repairing, one little project at a time. Currently I have been working on a trio of macrame wall hangings in a design that has been in my mind for years now. Basically, I want to compile elements I’ve worked with in the past and create unique pieces of art to sell. These first ones are kinda cheapy because I bought materials to practice this vision and then they turned out cute as hell so now I’ll be selling them off to new homes lol!

Some progress pics..

I’ve also been spending some time planning out my next macrame project. I bought these two metal frames, and I’m thinking about making them match as day and night versions. The planning process is kinda tricky in my brain to imagine two different color ways of the same style, but I think the creative challenge is exciting overall :)

Lastly, I have finally unpacked my old macrame from a few years ago, I made a lot of wall hangings then with some tree branches I acquired from a rancher on Etsy. I’ve added them to my macrame page for sale, so if you see one you like, grab it while it’s available because I won’t be remaking these designs outside of custom orders. It’s so hard to sell off creations that I love haha!

Those are all the updates for now <3

p.s. If you would like to custom order my art works, you can email me at krcaracol@gmail.com, or you can fill out the form in my contact page.
